Season Review: Delaware Tech’s Talaney Pierce

Our 2025-2026 season player review series continues with Delaware Tech’s women’s basketball Freshman Talaney Pierce.

Pierce was second on the team in scoring in the season, with 11.8 per game.

The Smyrna High alum had an eye for the basket all season, recording 17 games where she scored in double-digits.  She also posted two games where she scored 20 points or more.

Pierce’s season-high in points came on November 22nd versus Lackawanna, where she had 23 points. The Delaware Tech freshman made 11 of her 15 shots in this game. She also recorded a double-double in this game by collecting 13 rebounds.

Talaney was locked on the boards this season, as she led the team in rebounds with 12.3 rebounds per game. The Smyrna native recorded 21 games this season in which she collected 10 or more rebounds. Pierce also collected over 20 rebounds in a game this year.

Her season-high in rebounds came on February 19th in the 70-45 win over Anne Arundel Community College, where she collected 24 rebounds. She also recorded a double-double in this game by scoring 21 points.

She was the queen of the double-doubles this year, as she recorded 15 this season.

Pierce could also defend with the best of them, as she led the team in blocks with 1.6 per game. She had six games in which she had three or more blocks in a game. Her season-high in blocks was in the February 19th win over Anne Arundel Community College, where she had eight blocks.

The Delaware Tech freshman averaged 11.8 points per game, 12.3 rebounds, and 0.4 assists in 24 games.
