The Goldey-Beacom College softball team earned a split on Sunday with a 12-1 win in the first game and a 5-3 loss in the second versus the Post University Eagles.

Game Recap:
Goldey-Beacom leads by seven runs at the end of the fourth inning.
The Lightning struck fast at the top of the opening inning by scoring four runs on three hits and one error.
Senior infielder Rayna Pelcak started the scoring when she pushed home a baserunner with a getting on a base with a walk.
Senior infielder Autumn Simpson came up to the plate next and slapped a two-run double to right field to give her team a 3-0 edge.
Freshman infielder Bella Musey pushed the advantage to 4-0 by hitting an RBI double to right center.
In the third inning, GBC extended their lead to 6-0 with freshman outfielder Ayri Hansen hitting a RBI single up the middle and junior utility player McKenna Frank getting a run home when she was hit by a pitch.
Simpson would get her third RBI of the day when she pushed in a run when she grounded out to third base to take the score to 7-0.
The Lightning takes home a 12-1 win!
In the fifth inning, Goldey-Beacom continued to pour on their lead as they scored five runs on five hits and one error to take the score to 12-0.
A highlight of the inning came when McKenna Frank knocked a three-run double to right-center.
Post would score their first run of the game in the bottom of the fifth inning, with a solo home run, but GBC would still take home a dominating 12-1 win.
Pitching Recap:
Junior pitcher Molly Skelly earned the win by pitching four innings and striking out one batter.
