The Wilmington University baseball team earned its 12th win of the season on Wednesday, with a 7-1 victory over the Chestnut Hill College Griffins.

Wilmington leads by three runs at the end of the third inning.
After a scoreless opening inning, the Wildcats struck in the second inning, when sophomore catcher/designated hitter Jordan Santiago scored on a wild pitch to give his team a 1-0 edge.
In the third inning, WilmU would add a little cushion to their lead when Senior infielder Tyler Pirrung knocked an RBI double to send the baserunner home to put the score at 2-0. Pirrung was tagged out on third base on this play.
Senior outfielder Cam Trego would come up to the plate next, and he would hit a single, advance to second on a passed ball, and then head home on a wild pitch to give Wilmington a 3-0 advantage.
WilmU takes home a 7-1 win!
Fast forward to the sixth inning, where Sophomore pitcher/outfielder Zach Frame smoked a two-run triple to right field to give the Cats a 5-0 lead.
On the next play, Frame would score when Junior shortstop Justin Hernandez hit into a SAC Fly to right field to give their team a 6-0 edge.
The last run of the game for Wilmington came in the top of the seventh, where Cam Trego slapped a double to left center to give his team a 7-0 advantage.
Chestnut Hill would score its first run of the game in the bottom of the eighth inning, but WilmU would still take home a 7-1 victory.
Pitching Recap:
WilmU used five pitchers in the win, including junior infielder/pitcher Chase Fleming, who went 5.2 innings, gave up two walks, five hits, struck out six, and earned the win.
