The Delaware State University men’s basketball team is advancing to the MEAC Tournament semifinals after upsetting the Morgan State Bears 75-70 in overtime in the quarterfinals.
Senior forward Miles Webb led the team in scoring in the win, with 18 points. He also recorded a double-double, collecting 12 rebounds.
Sophomore guard Ponce James and senior guard Rahmir Moore both scored in double-digits in the game. James had 12 points, and Moore had 14.
Delaware State had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included steals (4-3), assists (10-8), and rebounds (42-35).
DSU also had the advantage in shooting, with the team shooting 43% (26-61) and Morgan State shooting 33%(20-61).

The Hornets came out swinging as soon as this game started, running out to an 11-4 edge with 11:46 remaining in the opening period.
Starting at the 9:02 minute mark, Miles Webb led the charge the rest of the way for DSU, scoring nine of the team’s final 16 points to help them take a 27-15 advantage at the end of the first half.
The game went into overtime with Morgan State’s comeback.
The Bears came out ready to fight as the team outscored Delaware State 31-18 to take a 46-45 edge with 6:59 left in the game.
In the next four minutes and 51 seconds, the intensity of the game increased another level as they traded leads five times and tied five times during that span. At the end of that time, Morgan State would hold a four-point advantage (58-54) over DSU.
The Hornets would tie the game at 58 with 54 seconds left in the game, after nailing four straight free throws.
After trailing by two points, with 41 seconds left in the game, the Hornets would push the game into overtime with a score of 60.
DSU takes home a 75-70 win in overtime.
The Hornets would dash out to a 5-2 run to grab a 65-62 advantage with 2:06 left in the game.
Delaware State would wrap up the win by scoring seven of their ten final points from the free throw line to get a 75-70 victory.
