Game Recap:

All tied at two at the end of the third inning.

After two innings of silence from both offenses, Pitt.-Johnstown was the first team to put runs on the board when an RBI single and an RBI double gave them a 2-0 lead in the top of the third inning.

Wilmington would answer back in the bottom of this inning by junior shortstop/pitcher Garrett Quinn , and  junior  outfielder/pitcher Brandon Grygo getting on base from each smacking a single.

Then, the next batter would walk, and then two batters later, Sophomore outfielder Brian Klumpp came up and slapped a two-run single to left field to tie the game up at two.

Wilmington University scores three runs in the sixth to take home a 5-4 win!

The Mountain Cats would grab the lead once again at the top of the sixth when a two-out, two-run double to center field put the score at 4-2.

WilmU was unfazed by that as the baserunners came easy for the team, with the first three batters getting on base through two walks and a single in the bottom of the third.

Grygo would once again get a baserunner home when it was his turn at the plate, as he reached on an error by Pitt-Johnstown’s shortstop, which allowed a run to go home to cut the deficit to 4-3.

Senior infielder Tyler Pirrung would walk up to the plate next and deliver the game-winning runs with a blast, a two-run single to right field to give the Cats a 5-4 lead and eventually the victory.
