The University of Delaware men’s basketball team earned its fifth victory of the season on Sunday with a 67-52 win over the Kennesaw State Owls. The Hens earned their first Conference USA win in program history with this victory over the Owls.
Senior forward Tyler Houser and Junior guard Christian Bliss led the team in scoring with 19 points.
Senior guard Justyn Fernandez also scored in double-digits in the game with 10 points.
Delaware had the advantage in multiple categories during the game, including points in the paint (38-14), turnovers (10-13), blocks (8-6), and assists (12-11).
UD also had the advantage in shooting, with the team boasting 50% (26-52) and Kennesaw State 28%(17-60). The Blue Hens also bested the Owls from the three-point line, with the team shooting 33%( 5-15) and Kennesaw State shooting 20%(7-35).

Delaware flew out to a quick lead in the early minutes of the opening half of this matchup, taking a 15-7 edge with 10:20 on the clock. Tyler Houser led the charge, scoring six of the 15 points.
Kennesaw State fought back and outscored UD 15-6 to take a 22-21 advantage with Braedan Lue capping that stretch with a made three-pointer at the 4:01 minute mark.
The Blue Hens ended the first half by scoring eight straight points to head into halftime with a 29-22 lead. Justyn Fernandez scored the last two buckets of that run for the Hens.

Fast forward to the 8:11 minute mark in the second half, where UD expanded its edge to ten (48-38) when Christian Bliss hit a stepback jumpshot and then nailed a free throw.
Bliss would give the Hens a 12-point advantage (62-50) with a made layup five minutes and 11 seconds later.
Delaware outscored the Owls 5-2 for the rest of the game to seal a 67-52 win.
