The Delaware State University men’s basketball team earned its fourth win of the season on Saturday with an 81-76 victory over the Longwood Lancers.
Senior guard Camian Shell, Senior guard Corey Perkins, and Junior forward Ademar Santos led the team in scoring with 17 points.
Two other DSU players who scored in double-digits were Sophomore guard Ponce James (13) and Senior forward Miles Webb (10).
Delaware State had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included fast-break points (11-2), points off of turnovers (17-8), turnovers (9-16), steals (11-5), and assists (15-12).
DSU also had the advantage in shooting, with the team shooting 56%(28-50) and Longwood shooting 49%(26-53). The Hornets were also the better team at the three-point line in this game, as the team shot 67%(8-12), and the Lancers shot 25% (6-24).

Longwood had a fast start to this game, dashing off to a 6-2 edge with 17:16 left in the opening half.
The Hornets responded by outscoring the Lancers 28-11 to grab a 30-17 advantage with 7:40 remaining in the first half. Ponce James, Camian Shell, and Corey Perkins led the charge, scoring 19 of the 28 points.
Longwood punched back by racing off on a 15-4 run to slice the deficit to two points (34-32) to end the first half.
The Hornets take home an 81-76 win!
Fast forward to the 7:41 minute mark in the second half, where Camian Shell hit a jump shot to give DSU a comfortable 12-point edge (64-52).
Longwood climbed its way back into this game by dashing off on a 10-5 run to pull the score to 69-62 with 4:18 left in the game.
Shell took the Hornets on his back for the rest of the game by scoring seven of the team’s 12 points in the final minutes to seal an 81-76 win over Longwood.
