The Goldey-Beacom men’s soccer team earned its first win of the season on Sunday with a 2-1 victory over the Daemen University Wildcats.
Goldey-Beacom trailed by one goal at the end of the first half.
The scoreboard stayed silent for most of the opening half in this match, until Daemen’s Larry Noel found the back of the net near the 45-minute mark to give his team a 1-0 edge.
GBC was outshot by the Wildcats 5-2 in the first half.
GBC takes home a 2-1 win!
The Lightning struck in the second half, as sophomore midfielder Sam Ball scored the team’s first goal of the day at the 74th minute to tie the game at one.
Eight minutes later, senior midfielder Sean Dickie was awarded a free kick and blasted in the game-winning goal for Goldey-Beacom to seal a 2-1 victory over Daemen.
GBC outshot the Wildcats 9-5 in the second half of this game.

The standouts in the game for the Lightning were Sam Ball, Sean Dickie, and senior goalkeeper Jamel Yasin.
Ball had three shots, two shots at the goal, and scored one goal in the win.
