Wilmington University clinches a spot in the CACC Tournament Final with 5-2 win over Jefferson

The Wilmington University baseball team has reached the CACC Tournament Final with a 5-2 win over the Jefferson University Rams on Friday.

Game Recap:

Wilmington University takes home a 5-2 win!

Junior infielder Tyler Pirrung would get the Wildcats on the board first in this game when he scored on a throwing error in the top of the fourth to give his team a 1-0 edge.

Jefferson would answer back at the bottom of the fourth by scoring two runs to gain a 2-1 advantage.

Sophomore outfielder/pitcher Brandon Grygo tied the game up at two in the sixth when he was waved home.

WilmU expanded their lead to 5-2 in the top of the seventh, when senior outfielder Kory Pritchard scored off an error and Grygo hit a two-run double down the left field line.

Pitching Recap:

Senior pitcher Scott Borgmann earned the win by pitching four innings, giving up five hits, and striking out two.
