On Monday, the Goldey-Beacom College softball team earned a split versus the University of Bridgeport Purple Knights. The Lightning lost the first game 7-2 and won the second match 5-0.

Goldey-Beacom takes home a 5-0 win!
The Lightning struck first in this game, with Sophomore Utility player McKenna Frank smoking a two-run double down the left field line to give her team a 2-0 edge in the bottom of the second inning.
Fast forward to the bottom of the fifth, where Junior infielder Autumn Simpson and Senior pitcher Wynter Radcliffe each hit an RBI single. Senior infielder Alex Lowry also recorded an RBI double in the inning, and the Bolts ended the inning with a 5-0 advantage.
Pitching Recap:
Senior pitcher Morgan McLane went seven innings, gave up three hits, one walk, struck out eight, and earned the win.
