Season Review: University of Delaware’s Ande’a Cherisier

Our 2024-2025 season player review series continues with the University of Delaware women’s basketball team as the spotlight turns to Sophomore center Ande’a Cherisier.

Cherisier was second on the team in scoring this season, with 10.9 points per game.

The Blue Hens center found her name on the scorecard often this season, recording double-digits in 20 games. Cherisier scored over 20 points in two games this year.

The Baltimore native scored her season-high in points in an 82-59 win over William & Mary on February 16th, where she scored 24 points. Cherisier made nine of her 11 shots and hit six free throws.

Another highlight performance for the second-year center came in a 70-61 win over Monmouth, where she scored 21 points. Cherisier made ten of her 14 shots and drained one of two free throws.

The sophomore center wasn’t just a scorer this season, as she had eyes locked on the boards, landing second on the team in rebounds per game with 5.2. Cherisier recorded a season-high 12 rebounds in the 71-62 win over Stony Brook on February 28th.

Opposing scorers did not want to see the UD center around the net this year, leading the team in blocks per game with 0.7. Cherisier had five games with multiple blocks this season.

The Delaware sophomore averaged 10.9 points per game, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 30 games.
