Our 2024-2025 season player review series continues with the Delaware State University men’s basketball team as the spotlight turns to Graduate student guard Martaz Robinson.
Robinson was second on the team in scoring this season, with 16.3 points per game.
The DSU guard found the basket easily this season, recording double-digits in 26 games. He had six games where he had over 20 points this year. Robinson also recorded a 30-point game this season.
The Baltimore native opened the season by posting a game-high 30 points on November 4th versus Virginia Tech. He made six of his ten shots, hit both three-pointers (2-2), and nailed 16 of 17 free throws.
Another good shooting night for the Delaware State guard came on December 17th versus Norfolk State, where he posted 17 points. Robinson made four of his five shots, drained all his attempts from the three-point line (3-3), and nailed all six free throws.
Near the end of the season, Robinson had another highlight performance on March 1st in the 83-79 win over Coppin State, where he posted 26 points. He made seven of his ten shots, both attempts from the three-point line (2-2), and hit ten of 12 free throws.
Scoring wasn’t the only skill in the DSU guard’s arsenal this season, as he was a monster on the boards, leading the team in rebounds per game with 6.2. The Graduate student had four games this year, where he recorded a double-double.
The Hornets guard might of scored a lot, but he made sure his teammates did too, landing third on the team in assists per game with 2.6.
Robinson also had quick hands on defense, leading the team in steals per game with 1.7.
The Delaware State Graduate student averaged 16.3 points per game, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in 29 games.
