The Wilmington University women’s soccer team earned its eighth victory of the season on Saturday, defeating the Caldwell University Cougars 1-0.

Neither team could find the back of the net in the first half, but that would change in the second.
The Wildcats would light up the board at the 55-minute mark when senior forward Alyssa Ruggeri tried to head the ball in for a goal but was denied by Caldwell’s goalkeeper. Graduate forward Jordan Siok would fight for the rebound and push the ball in for a score to seal a 1-0 win.
Stats and standouts:
The standouts in the game for the Wildcats were Jordan Siok, Alyssa Ruggeri, senior goalkeeper Mio Nakajima, and sophomore goalkeeper Arianna Myers.
Siok had three shots, one shot at the goal, and one goal in the victory.
Ruggeri had one assist in the win.
Nakajima allowed zero goals and one save in 45 minutes in the win.
Myers allowed zero goals and had one save in 45 minutes in the game.
