Siok scores game winning goal in Wilmington University’s 1-0 victory over Caldwell

The Wilmington University women’s soccer team earned its eighth victory of the season on Saturday, defeating the Caldwell University Cougars 1-0.

WSOC (FT): #WilmUWSoccer 1 – Caldwell 0. WU now 8-2, 5-0 CACC. 7 game-winning streak. Jordan Siok the game in the 55th minute off a rebound from Alyssa Ruggeri. Her 5th of the year. Shots were 14-10, WilmU. Myers and Nakajima with 1 save each half for the shutout.

Wilmington University takes home a 1-0 victory!

Neither team could find the back of the net in the first half, but that would change in the second.

The Wildcats would light up the board at the 55-minute mark when senior forward Alyssa Ruggeri tried to head the ball in for a goal but was denied by Caldwell’s goalkeeper. Graduate forward Jordan Siok would fight for the rebound and push the ball in for a score to seal a 1-0 win.

The standouts in the game for the Wildcats were Jordan Siok, Alyssa Ruggeri, senior goalkeeper Mio Nakajima, and sophomore goalkeeper Arianna Myers.
