The Goldey-Beacom College baseball team picked up a split on Sunday versus the Felician University Golden Falcons with a 5-4 win (Game One) and an 8-0 loss (Game Two).

Goldey-Beacom takes a two-run lead in the first inning.
The Lightning would strike first in this game, as Sophomore outfielder Anthony Charles knocked a two-run double down the left field line to give his team a 2-0 edge in the bottom of the opening inning.
The Lightning holds a four-run lead at the end of the fourth inning.
Two innings later, GBC would add another run to their lead as Senior second baseman Kyle Walker slapped an RBI single to the shortstop to give his team a 3-0 lead. Walker also stole second and third base in the third inning.
Goldey-Beacom would continue to expand their advantage in the fourth inning, as senior outfielder Demetrius Johnson hit an RBI single through the left side to give his team a 4-0 edge.
Goldey-Beacom loses the lead as Felician ties the game in the seventh inning.
Felician would start climbing in this game in the top of the sixth inning where baserunners would score on a Sac fly and a batter get hit by a pitch to slice the deficit to 4-2.
The Golden Falcons would tie the game at four in the seventh inning when two runs would go home from a fielding error by Lightning’s shortstop.
The Lightning takes home a 5-4 win in 12 innings.
A winner of this game would be found in the extra innings, as Goldey would find a way by getting two hits to earn a 5-4 victory in the 12th.
The bottom of the 12th inning would start with Junior catcher Calen Kampes smacking a single to third base.
Three plays later, Demetrius Johnson would have the game-winning RBI single to give GBC a 5-4 win.
Pitching recap:
Senior pitcher Justin Jump would go 6.1 innings, gave up five hits, four runs, three walks, struck out six batters, and hit two batters.
The bullpen consisted of three relievers, who combined to give up two hits, one walk, hit one batter, struck out four batters, and hit two batters.
Sophomore pitcher Kevin Dillon closed out the game by going 0.2 innings and taking home the win.
