The Delaware State University men’s basketball team earned their 12th win of the season on Monday with an 80-58 victory over the Morgan State University Bears.
Freshman guard Deywilk Tavarez led the team in scoring in the win with 21 points.
Senior guard Martaz Robinson recorded a double-double in the victory, as he had 16 points and collected ten rebounds.
Two other DSU players who scored in double-digits were sophomore guard Jevin Muniz (14), and senior forward Alston Andrews (11). Andrews also recorded a double-double in the game, collecting 11 rebounds with his 11 points.
Delaware State had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points in the paint (38-30), points off of turnovers (21-10), rebounds (35-20), assists (16-9), turnovers (12-14), blocks (2-0), and steals (12-6).
The Hornets also had the advantage in shooting, with the team shooting 51.9 %(27-52) and Morgan State shooting 36.4 %(20-55). Delaware State also bested the Bears from the three-point line, with the team shooting 45.5 % (5-11) and Morgan State shooting 22.2 %(4-18).
