The Delaware State University women’s basketball team earned their fifth win of the season on Monday with a 73-71 victory over the Morgan State University Bears.
Senior guard Ja’Naiah Perkins-Jackson led the team in scoring in the win with 18 points.
Three other DSU players who scored in double-digits were sophomore guard/forward Savannah Brooks (14), junior forward Tyshonne Tollie (14), and graduate student guard Denijsha Wilson (14).
Delaware State had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points off of turnovers (25-21), turnovers (22-24), and steals (12-10).
The Hornets also had the advantage in shooting, with the team shooting 43.3 % (26-60) and Morgan State shooting 38.1 %(24-63). Delaware State also bested the Bears from the three-point line, with the team shooting 53.3 % (8-15) and Morgan State shooting 27.8 %(5-18).
