The Wilmington University women’s soccer team earned their fourth win of the season on Tuesday with a 3-1 victory over the Holy Family University Tigers.
The standouts in the game for the Wildcats were redshirt sophomore midfielder Manuela Restrepo, redshirt freshman forward Evelyn Payne , junior forward Alyssa Ruggeri, freshman forward Sharon Freire Omonigho , and junior goalkeeper Mio Nakajima.
Restrepo had three shots, one shot at the goal, scored one goal, and had one assist in the win.
Payne had two shots, one shot at the goal, and scored one goal in the game.
Ruggeri had one shot, one shot at the goal, scored one goal, and had one assist in the victory.
Freire Omonigho had one assist in the game.
Nakajima allowed one goal in 90 minutes and had five saves in the game.

The scoreboard would not stay silent for long in this matchup, as Sharon Freire Omonigho would find Alyssa Ruggeri in the box, where she would knock the ball in for a goal to give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead at the 1:12 minute mark.
Almost nine minutes later, Ruggeri would be in on a scoring play once again, as she would find a wide-open Manuela Restrepo near the net, who would get the ball over the Tigers goalkeeper’s head to push the score to 2-0.
Holy Family would find the back of the net at the 20-minute mark when Lexi Murphy scored a goal for her team to cut the deficit to 2-1.
The Wildcats would add one more goal in the second half to seal a 3-1 victory!
Wilmington wouldn’t be done scoring just yet, as almost ten minutes into the second half, Evelyn Payne would blast the ball into the net to seal a 3-1 victory for the Cats. Restrepo would assist on Payne’s scoring play.
