CAA Quarterfinals: Second-half surge leads Blue Hens past William & Mary 61-35

The University of Delaware women’s basketball team is moving on to the CAA Semifinals as the team defeated the College of William & Mary Tribe 61-35 on Friday. In the first half of this matchup, the score was close as the Hens only led by four points going into halftime. The University of Delaware cleaned up their mistakes from the first and took over the second half to win by 26. The Blue Hens will face Towson in the Semifinals on Saturday.

Senior guard/forward Jasmine Dickey was the leading scorer for the Blue Hens in the win as she had 29 points. Dickey also recorded a double-double in the win as she collected ten rebounds with her 29 points.

Redshirt senior forward Ty Battle also recorded a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Graduate Student forward Lizzie Oleary led the Hens in rebounds in the win as she collected 15.

Delaware had the advantage in multiple categories in this game, which included points in the paint (38-14), points off of turnovers (22-4), second-chance points (16-3), fast-break (13-6), rebounds (54-31), assists (9-8), turnovers (16-21), blocks (5-2), and steals (13-7).

Blue Hens also had the advantage in shooting as well, with the team shooting 36.4 % (24-66) and with the Tribe shooting 25.5 %( 12-47).
